New System Will Manage More Than 11 Million Documents For
Multiple Retirement and Pension Programs Statewide

GREENSBORO, N.C., July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- DTI Integrated Business
Solutions, a leading content management integrator in the Southeast, announced
today that it has successfully installed a new electronic document management
system for the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer (DST). The
$1.5 million system upgrades the state retirement program into an enterprise-
wide solution for the retirement system that captures information from a
variety of sources and provides users with the ability to view, annotate,
print, fax and/or email documents directly from their PCs.

With more than 600,000 members and over $54 billion in assets, the DST
required a new solution that was user-friendly, and still provided the highest
security possible. It also had to be extremely flexible in assimilating
information in electronic, paper, microfiche and other formats into a common
database. The system developed by DTI meets those requirements, and its open
and scaleable architecture enables it to meet both current and future needs.
Ongoing comprehensive support from DTI will ensure maximum uptime and
accuracy.

"The retirement system for the state of North Carolina is the 10th largest
public plan in the U.S., and the 24th largest in the world. We needed to find
a way to electronically organize and manage this massive amount of information
in a more efficient and logical manner," said Bill Golden, Chief Information
Officer, North Carolina Department of State Treasurer. "DTI emerged as the
most qualified vendor to provide a comprehensive system, including custom
design, implementation and ongoing support, that met our specific criteria."

The Retirement Systems Division of the Department of State Treasurer was
looking for a single vendor to provide:

* Complete turnkey conversion of the images and data stored in the legacy
Unisys system that was being replaced
* Ability to capture documents from a variety of sources, including
scanners, digital microfiche reader printers, and data from electronic
forms
* Instant access to documents stored within the system, based on security
clearance
* Workflow capability to support the current retirement system process
* Complete system administration, security and audit capabilities

"It would have been easy to simply give them the latest software; the
critical part is making all of the various components work together in a
seamless solution and integrate them into their workflow/business processes,"
said Phillip Clary, manager of Business Development, DTI. "Our experience
with such varied clients as the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Food Lion and the
Boy Scouts of America, gave us an edge in being able to design a best-of-breed
solution."

The vendor partners DTI selected for this solution include:

* Legato (formerly OTG) for image/document management, COLD/ERM, workflow
and web-based solutions
* Captovation eCapture for front-end scanning and indexing.
* 4Matix for conversion of existing data. An industry leading provider of
document Imaging and Cold systems conversions
