New System Will Manage More Than 11 Million Documents For
Multiple Retirement and Pension Programs Statewide
GREENSBORO, N.C., July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- DTI Integrated Business
Solutions, a leading content management integrator in the Southeast, announced
today that it has successfully installed a new electronic document management
system for the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer (DST). The
$1.5 million system upgrades the state retirement program into an enterprise-
wide solution for the retirement system that captures information from a
variety of sources and provides users with the ability to view, annotate,
print, fax and/or email documents directly from their PCs.
With more than 600,000 members and over $54 billion in assets, the DST
required a new solution that was user-friendly, and still provided the highest
security possible. It also had to be extremely flexible in assimilating
information in electronic, paper, microfiche and other formats into a common
database. The system developed by DTI meets those requirements, and its open
and scaleable architecture enables it to meet both current and future needs.
Ongoing comprehensive support from DTI will ensure maximum uptime and
accuracy.

public plan in the U.S., and the 24th largest in the world. We needed to find
a way to electronically organize and manage this massive amount of information

The Retirement Systems Division of the Department of State Treasurer was
looking for a single vendor to provide:

Unisys system that was being replaced
* Ability to capture documents from a variety of sources, including
scanners, digital microfiche reader printers, and data from electronic
forms
* Instant access to documents stored within the system, based on security
clearance
* Workflow capability to support the current retirement system process
* Complete system administration, security and audit capabilities
